Phoenix General felt like a perfect mixture of both Bunky Boutique and Now or Never. It had that indie vibe mixed with a modern/classy chicness twist. When you first walk in you are greeted with this little succulent garden-like area in the corner complete with the smell of incense burning, which made the environment really warm and inviting off the bat. The location that we went to is also connected to an eyewear shop, but we didn’t look at that side that much. Everything in the store was laid out in an organized fashion, I almost didn’t want to touch anything because I felt like I would mess with the neatness of it. This store compared to the other two stores, mostly had accessories instead of clothing, there were two big tables in the middle that was full of little items like earrings, tote bags, soaps, water bottles, etc. The prices for most things ranged anywhere from $10 to about $45, which I would deem as pretty reasonable considering this is a shop (much like most boutiques) that is sourcing out other companies. Of course, there was the occasional item that went above that range, and the most expensive thing that I saw was a shirt for about $135. This is the only store where I actually bought something, it was a $15 tote bag that was just too cute to pass up, if you go make sure to check out their totes! When talking to the worker about the store, I found out that they stayed open (or at least tried to) for the majority of the pandemic. He gave credit to their online store, which you can find here, for being the reason why they really stayed in business and how people knew they were still open. He told us that after the pandemic, they opened a second store that is located on Roosevelt St (if you are an ASU student this one might be a little closer) and just maintain an inventory between the two stores and the online one. When you come to this store, you will also find in the surrounding area a sushi restaurant and another restaurant/bar to the right of it, and like I said this location was connected to an eyewear shop so you have that to look forward to if you come by here.
