Ceiling Fan Thieves

PHOENIX - Today, the Arizona Attorney General's Office released a press statement saying that three men “were convicted for operating a retail theft scheme.” These men, Micah Allen Pierce, Jesse Raul Henderson, and Clint Anthony Anaya, stole $28,000 worth of ceiling fans and proceeded to resale them on Facebook Marketplace. According to the press release, these crimes started in June of 2020 and continued on until December 2020. “Pierce, Henderson, and Clint stole over 70 ceiling fans from Home Depot and Lowe's home improvement stores, valued at $28,000.” Pierce and his Facebook account were later identified by one of the store’s security officers and referred back to the Tucson Police Department. The three men were then linked to “28 individual thefts around Arizona, including stores in Pima, Maricopa, and Pinal Counties.” Pierce pleaded guilty to one count each of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, and Organized Retail Theft. He can face jail time anywhere from one to three years, and after his release, he can face up to seven years of supervised probation. Pierce was also “caught swapping UPC labels on various products using the Walmart self-checkout line,” he pleaded guilty to this crime as well. Pierce faces an additional two years of jail time or term of probation, he is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday, April 14, 2022, in the Pima County Superior Court. Henderson pleaded guilty to one count each of Trafficking in Stolen Property and Organized Retail Theft. According to the press release, he faces five to 10 years of jail time and up to three years of supervised probation. Henderson is scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Anaya pleaded guilty to Trafficking in Stolen Property and Attempted Organized Retail Theft. On Monday, February 7, 2022, he was sentenced to half a year of jail time and will serve five years of supervised probation after his release.
